HAPPY FALL, everyone!! It's my favorite time of year! When everything is fall colors, the nights get cooler, and everything gets just a bit scarier! It's also my favorite season for another reason. Every Fall we have the family tradition of visiting a pumpkin patch. Normally, we try to stay local but we got the wonderful opportunity to visit a pumpkin patch a little bit further away from our hometown, The Lone Star Family Farm.
It's an amazing family friendly pumpkin patch that has the famous, 6-acre Giant Maize Quest® Corn Maze. That's one of the reasons that drew us to this place. Our local pumpkin patch is nice but it's small in comparison to The Lone Star Family Farm. If you're looking for a place to spend a good portion of your day with your family, this is the place to go. Located in Stephenville, Tx, this family farm/pumpkin patch has many attractions that are suitable for all ages. In fact, it's so popular that the local news channel, NBC5, frequently sponsors them.

The Lone Star Family Farm features many attractions from the 6-acre Giant Maize Quest® Corn Maze, a Hay Bale Maze, Corn and Sand Pits, Farm Animals, Hay Rides through the pumpkin patches and more. There are even sections that are designed for younger kids to play. For example, the smaller Mini Maze, hidden within the Giant Corn Maze is great for younger explorers not quite ready for the Giant Corn Maze. The mini-maze is only a half an acre.

Some of our favorite attractions were the Corn Pits and the huge Hay slides. Our girls played in the pits for a really long time. They are clean and covered from the sun so kids can play for hours while the adults maybe take a break and rest your feet after tackling the huge corn maze.

The Hay Slides are something that I've never seen before at any of the Pumpkin patches we've ever visited. And let me tell you, our kids loved them so much, we literally had to pull them away. Plus a bonus, they are even big enough for the adults. I went down a few times and it's a blast.

For the younger kids, there are fun areas such as this ball pit, a smaller hay maze, and even a little soccer ring made from hay bales. My youngest really enjoyed playing in these areas.

After running around for hours, we took a break and enjoyed a nice relaxing hayride through the pumpkin patches. You sit on hay bales in the back of a nice fenced in trailer that's pulled by a big tractor. I mean, how much more of a farm experience do you need? The hayride takes you through all the farm's pumpkin patches and you actually get to jump off and pick your pumpkins, if you wish.

And if your family gets hungry, The Lone Star Family Farm has a Harvest Time Grill complete with hot dogs, nachos, pizzas, grilled cheese and more. And surprisingly, the prices are very reasonable.

If you're looking for a great place to take Fall themed family photos, The Lone Star Family Farm has many areas that are set up with beautiful backdrops.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Lone Star Family Farms. They offered many family-friendly activities and the 6-acre Giant Maize Quest® Corn Maze was so much fun to trek through. It was well worth the drive and is a place we will visit again!
